American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous hip-hop tracks that addressed the issue of sexuality and race with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her initial exposure to music stemmed via the trumpet. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training.
