Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous hip-hop tracks that addressed the issue of sexuality and race with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her initial exposure to music stemmed via the trumpet. In the following years, she took up hip-hop and classical training. In college she focused in her studies, pursuing a degree in journalism and women's studies. While spending a few days of time in Beijing as well, she was also studying Mandarin. Following graduation, she decided to devote her time to music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included queef track and the equally winking NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. This song is directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC and 2015 travel guide. As a musician and an author on her resume she decided to focus on becoming an actor for a third venture. She's appeared in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. She made her debut in 2018 with a few movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June of the same year.
