Alex is a native of Pasadena, California, and lived on Hancock Park, a Los Angeles suburb of Hancock Park. Her father is Dr. Charles B. Witt is a well-known Thoracic surgeon who is based in Los Angeles. Colette Witt is her mother. There are two brothers named Charles Walter and Charles Walter Witt. Witt may also be related with George Washington. Her family is descended from George Washington, and she is also a member of National Society of Washington Family Descendedants. Witt is currently living together with Bill Sorensen who is a TV producer. The couple is blessed with a daughter called Caroline Sorensen and a son named Charlie Sorensen. They have two kids. They're Charlie Sorensen (son) and Caroline Sorensen.
